On March 24, the last car from Vauxhall Heritage, the 1968 Viva GT, left Luton for its trip to Ellesmere Port where the ‘Griffin Greats’ are currently being stored. The Internationally important, one marque collection includes vehicles from the birth of motoring, supercars, the world’s first sports car, concept vehicles and family favourites. Over the years Vauxhall Heritage, formally based in the grounds of Griffin House, Vauxhalls former UK HQ, has been a focal point for clubs, journalists and specialists alike. The unit, sited next to the factory where most of the collection was built, is to be demolished to make way for housing, leaving the collection without a home for the first time in 30 years.
