Sleeping with the Fishes Doctors have long touted the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids from fish for better heart health. Now researchers from the University of Pennsylvania who studied more than 500 Chinese children have found that those who ate fish at least once weekly slept more soundly than those who seldom or never ate fish. One likely explanation is that omega-3 fatty acids help boost the production of prostaglandins, the body’s own sleep-promoting substances.
