Kakuro is a popular logic puzzle that originated in Japan. It is also known as Cross Sums or Kakro. The ob jective of the puzzle is to fill a grid with digits (typically 1-9) in such a way that the sums of horizontal and vertical “clues” or numbers are achieved. The grid consists of blank cells and filled cells. Filled cells are typically denoted by thickened borders and contain clues— numbers representing the sum of the digits in consecutive, adjacent blank cells.
