The story revolves around hacker Tomo Sakagawa as he sifts through the memories of fellow Assassin and CIA operative Aleksei Gavrani. The chilly blues of current-day Tokyo and the khaki greens of war-torn Vietnam background darker themes – the adverse effects the Animus can have on its users, for example. These days, the world ‘cloud’ conjures up a certain image: of servers humming away in basements, of high-powered tech evangelists building castles in the sky. A proportional response Although not by any stretch a perfect game, Life Is Strange 2 felt to me like one of the most important I’ve played in a long time and I felt Edge’s review (E341) perhaps underplayed its significance.
