I once set myself the challenge of only purchasing 12 new fashion items over an entire year. I did this because when I looked in my wardrobe I realised I’d spent an awful lot of money and didn’t have much to show for it. I’d fallen into the trap of believing I shouldn’t spend a lot on any one item, because that seemed extravagant, but I could always justify a fast-fashion bargain. The result was a wardrobe full of clothes of dubious quality and sorely lacking the ‘I love it’ factor.
