This time last year we named equal-pay campaigner Kristine Bartlett our 2017 Supreme Woman of the Year for the work she did to raise the pay rates of rest-home workers nationwide. She is a very humble person who seemed genuinely shocked to have won, but it turned out to be the first of several accolades, including being named New Zealander of the Year.
