“We were hosting the Bicentennial Gold Cup, featuring number one ranked Brazil, world champions Argentina and Asian champions Saudi Arabia. Everyone expected us to get annihilated when we played Argentina at Sydney Football Stadium, who had a full strength team bar Maradona. Although we thought we had the ability to go out there and mix it with them, especially after playing well in a 1-0 loss to Brazil, we never anticipated what would happen.
