LEVC, maker of the London taxi, is branching out and has announced an all-new electric platform that will underpin a future range of passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Called Space Orientated Architecture (SOA) and developed with Chinese parent firm Geely, the platform (pictured right) can support vehicles between 4,860mm and 5,995mm long, with wheelbases of between 3,000mm and 3,800mm.
A range of batteries can be fitted, ranging from 73kWh to 120kWh, with LEVC claiming a maximum range of up to 431 miles will be possible. Front, rear and all-wheel-drive configurations will also be available, depending on the vehicle and spec.
With a focus on space and practicality, LEVC says SOA’s “unprecedented flexibility maximises interior space, offering multiple seating and load-carrying configurations”.
