Spectacular sea slugs
Sliding around the waters of the Indo-Pacific are remarkable invertebrates called nudibranchs. On this one’s back are inflated structures called certata. The cerata serve several purposes, including camouflage, digestion and respiration. Nudibranchs have been known to use their certata to steal stinging cells called nematocysts from other animals, such as jellyfish.
