In 2009, Jon Rose was nearing 30. After spending his entire adult life as a pro surfer, he began searching for the next chapter in his story. He thought he might try photography or woodworking. “Whatever I did, I wanted to have an excuse to go back to the places I’d surfed around the world that really meant something to me,” he says.
