The codename suited her to a tee; like a troublesome rodent, the New Zealand-born Resistance fighter was an expert in evading capture. In fact, she was so wily, so evasive, that, by the end of the Second World War, she was near the top of the Gestapo’s most wanted list. Time after time, traps were set for her. But the White Mouse never took the bait.
