One of the projects she worked on during these train rides was a piece of hardanger embroidery she had designed with the goal of entering in the Nordic Needle Hardanger Competition. This winning entry was the stepping stone which lead to her first book Elegant Hardanger Embroidery, published in 2002. The second book followed soon after. ”I went to Ireland to research the beautiful floral whitework embroidery that originated from the town of Mountmellick. I invited my twin sister, Prue Scott, to do this book with me. Prue is an accomplished embroiderer with the added advantage of being a trained botanical artist.
