Chris Benchetler’s signature skis are probably better known than he is. But if you’re familiar with Atomic’s now-classic Bent Chetler model, you’ll have a pretty good summation of the man, too. The ski he designed works best with a light, surfy, aerial style in powder, and the topsheets he draws feature playful, cosmic designs.
Like his skis, Benchetler, a Mammoth native, is Californian to the core. In addition to shaping his personality, the Golden State’s bounty of world-class adventure playgrounds has given Benchetler, 30, a map to his professional adventure life.
