TAKE one glance at the list prices and the #1 looks like great value for money. However, the overwhelming majority of drivers now opt for PCP finance, and here the Smart doesn’t quite stack up against the Megane.
On a four-year agreement for both cars, with an £8,000 deposit and a 6,000-mile annual limit, the Megane is £348 a month, undercutting the #1 by almost £90 a month. A £2,000 deposit contribution certainly works in the Renault’s favour.
