THE promise of closer pricing between petrol and pure-electric cars is starting to ring true, with more and more manufacturers cutting the prices of their EVs, and in doing so helping to cool off the rapid inflation of new-car prices. Jeep and Citroen are the latest to bring big cuts to some of their EVs, kicking off with Jeep cutting the price of its Avenger Electric (below) by as much as £5,000.
The compact SUV now starts at £29,999 for the entry-level Longitude model, putting it on a level footing with the recently revealed Ford Puma Gen-E. The mid-range Altitude trim now costs £31,999, £4,700 less than before, and the range-topping Summit is £4,900 cheaper at £33,999.
