1 Migration
Animals migrate from one place to another because the season has changed or because they want to breed, nest, avoid predators or find food. Migration is part of an animal’s life cycle, and some animals often travel to the same place at the same time every year.
Humpback Whales
In the summertime, humpback whales hunt and feed in cold polar waters. In the winter, these whales migrate to warmer tropical areas to mate and have their calves.
Whooping Cranes
At Wood Buffalo National Park between Alberta and the Northwest Territories, whooping cranes eat insects, seeds, frogs and small fish. Around the end of September, when they don’t have as much food, they fly to Texas to feast on clams and crabs.
