I arrived in New York from Australia almost 18 years ago, on September 4, 2001, to be exact. I moved to America for all the reasons so many people do: big, shiny dreams. My dream was to work at a fashion magazine, and I’m happy and proud to say that worked out. The U.S. has always held a mythology for me because of its popular culture, its civic institutions, its epic history. As a resident, I am invested in this country, and as I’m engaged to an American, my investment grows deeper every minute.
