The peninsula and vent hood were clad in reeded oak that’s stained in a rich ebony tone, while the rest of the cabinets were lacquered in a crisp white, their outlines subtly defined by pencil-trim moulding. Custom-made MDF hardware was painted to match, a clever move that keeps the look uninterrupted but still transitional in tone. “We wanted everything to blend in, especially the panelled fridge,” says Alana.
