WAY TO GROW PLENTY OF PUMPKINS Now that’s a lot of pumpkins! Last fall, farmers in southern England made a huge mosaic using pumpkins to recreate a scene from the animated movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. The display was about the size of a tennis court! And it ended up setting a world record for the largest Cucurbita mosaic ever created. Cucur-what? Cucurbita is a genus of fruit that includes pumpkins, squashes, and gourds. The Nelson family, who own the farm, worked alongside 10 farmhands to form the art. All in all, their design used more than 10,000 orange and white pumpkins, as well as two types of squashes.
