Glide right CHOOSE YOUR RIDE Select a sit-on-top kayak if you’ll be on flat water, like a lake. (This style is easier to board too, as there’s no cockpit to climb into.) Sea and daytouring kayaks glide across water faster and are more stable in rough conditions. MAKE AN ENTRANCE To mount without tipping, place the boat parallel to the dock; if heading out from shore, put it halfway in the water with the seat parallel to the shoreline. Most likely it’s a combo of your gender and your workout. Compared with a man, a woman has less muscle mass in her back and biceps (the areas primarily responsible for pulling), plus a lower center of gravity; both of these factors make it harder to hoist yourself up to a bar. A whopping 90 percent of us have cellulite, a genetic condition that affects women of all shapes and sizes, says LA-based dermatologist Howard Murad, M.D., author of The Cellulite Solution.
