Even if you’re just dipping your toe into antiaging skin care, you’ve probably heard of alpha hydroxy acids, or AHAs. These chemical exfoliants (the most familiar are glycolic acid and lactic acid) have been used for decades to slough away dead cells, improve skin texture and pigmentation, and even potentially promote collagen production. But they’re not for everyone.
