Breast cancer awareness can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it drives more research and support. Spanis researchers created a mixture of cavity-causing bacteria similar to those found in your mouth and then treated it with different liquids. They found that red wine (even nonalcoholic varieties) and grapeseed extract both helped to get rid of the bacteria. Synthetic fabrics like nylon can block airflow to the vagina, raising its pH and allowing yeast to flourish, warns Rabin. To avoid infections, go for garments with a crotch lining made of breathable, natural fibers, such as cotton or wool.
